Happy Rants #14 and #15: Why Don’t Men Read More Fiction? & Is Internet Self-Promotion a Good Thing?

We’re men, we’re manly men. And we don’t read stories. Those are for girls and children.

At least that’s how the stereotype goes. But stereotypes are based on something, and it’s actually true that statistically men read less fiction than women. Why? Stephen and I discuss this in Happy Rant #14.

“I’ll give you $4,449 worth of e-resources forĀ free if you buy my new book and sign up for my email list!”

It’s the current most popular online marketing tactic for authors. And it’s total crap most of the time. But what kind of internet self-promotion is not crap? Stephen and I sort this mess out in Happy Rant #15.
